Listmates,

I just finished listening to a new CD by clarinetist John Braun's Riverfront
Ramblers out of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Those of you who frequent the
Mississippi Rag's Chat room will recognize John's name, as he frequently
adds comments to the venue. John is a fine clarinetist as well as
saxophonist.

The CD is a collection of Gospel Hymns is titled: "Jammin' for Jesus!"
Although it is a collection of tried & true oldies, musically it's one of
the smoothest, cleanest sounding gospel Dixieland CD's I've heard in a long
time. The sound engineering is marvelous also, which adds to the overall
pleasant listening experience.

The musicians are: John Braun (cl), Bill Hughes (trmpt), Herb Draeger
(tbone), Don Van (keyboards), Bob Hueller (bass) and Jim Scalf (drums). The
tunes on the CD are:
? He's Got The Whole World In His Hands
? Battle Hymn Of The Republic
? Precious Lord, Take My Hand
? Just A Little While To Stay Here
? Come Sunday
? Down By The Riverside
? Amazing Grace
? Joshua Fit The Battle Of Jericho
? Just A Closer Walk With Thee
? Swing Low, Sweet Chariot
? The Old Rugged Cross
? What A Friend We Have In Jesus
? When The Saints Go Marchin' In

I highly recommend this CD. You can get info on it from John Braun directly
at 920-458-4149. His e-mail address is:

Note: I do not have any connection, financial or musical, with this CD. I do
work with John Braun won occasion with my Dixie Barons Dixieland Band in the
Milwaukee, WI market, when I can get him. However, he normally uses piano in
his group instead of banjo.
