Dear Ed,
Ah! Mmmmmmmmmmm. I had almost forgotten that.
In my pre to early jazz days as a kid of 14-15, I did ice and milk rounds,
before school, in Williamstown, a bayside suburb of Melbourne, Australia.
Started as a 'jockey', then had my own run on weekends.
Up early, ride the bike to the ice-works/dairy at about 5.00 am, harness up
the draught horse and load the cart.
And yes, the horse knew the run and when and where to stop.
The back door to each house was always open and the money was on top of the
icebox.
Regards,
Bill.

The fundamental things apply
As time goes by.
