Dear folks, the Left Bank Bearcats was really a pick up group from
Philadelphia and probably never set foot in France. A local society leader was their
leader and the drummer was named Jack Cassidy (not Jacques Cas) who I worked
with regularly. Jack was then (and still may be) a good friend of Joe Hanlon
(currently leader of the Connecticut based Bearcats - Hmmmmmm!). Both hailed
from Chester, PA at the time (late 50s).

Joe Hanlon probably has dozens of stories about Jack, as he was somewhat of
a character. Ask Joe about the time that Cassidy upset a trailer load of
records on the NJ turnpike on the way from Philadelphia to NYC ( he drove truck
for the record company that produced the recordings).

Sorry to break all the bad news about this "international" jazz band!! Ed
