It's a small, small world -- at least Disney said so. Back around 1936 or so, Art Shaw auditioned vocalists at the Roseland Ballroom in Boston. Two of the girls auditioned were Peg LaCentra and Jean Ryan, who, over the years sang with Muggsy Spanier's band, Art Mooney's, and had married Art Mooney. LaCentra got the job and went on to record several sides with Shaw's pre-1938 band.
Jean Ryan later married Richard Cottrell, who many years later, became president of the Aerojet Chemical Corporation here in Sacramento.
