Greetings, all (and Congrats! Mr Haesler!).  Just still trying to nail down the answer to my Bessie Smith distortion question.  I think we'd reached the point of more or less agreeing that what I hear as a "gurgle" in the occasional Bessie high note is intrinsic to the original recording, and merely brought into greater relief by the remastering process (in this case, Mr Davies' work).  Can this be confirmed as the best answer?  Reason I'm still curious is that IF it is the primary fault of the remastering, itself, how can Mr Davies' remastering on the Frog series be considered "definitive"?,
