Hello all

The Oxford Dictionary supports Sue's and Steve's suggestions for the origin
of the name of this dance, ie after Lindbergh and from the Savoy Ballroom.

As is usually the case, the first appearance in print came later:

1931, Zit's Theatrical Newspaper, 2 May, page 11 "The winners of the
all-Harlem Lindy Hop contest ... drew rounds of applause nightly"

All the best
Anton
