[Dixielandjazz] Lindy Hop

I know none of you guys were around and drinking anything stronger than Bass
Ale then but I've come across some conflicting information regarding the
Lindy Hop (dance) I wonder if somebody can clarify. 

One of the Lindy Hop websites ( http://www.savoystyle.com/ ) doesn't mention
Charles Lindbergh at all and seems to claim the Lindy Hop comes from 1926 (a
year before Lindbergh was noticed by anyone for anything.

Another site ( http://dancing.org/lindy-what-is.html )quite explicitly
claims the dance is named in reference to Lindbergh's "hopping the
Atlantic".
