Hello, Listmates...I just got word that Jim Hubbard, clarinetist/leader of the "Jasstown Revelators", and former president of the "Southern California Hot Jazz Society" in the '50's, is in the hospital in Jackson, California. 
At one time he has his own jazz club in Hollywood, and told me that Kid Ory and Johnny St. Cyr sat in frequently with his band.
The word is that he could pass on at any moment, or it could be a couple of days. Cancer. He played with Cell Block 7 in the late '80' before starting his own band. I'll give more info as it comes to me...
His wife has requested no visitors or phone messages.
Very sad...
