[Dixielandjazz] Stravinsky's Star Spangled Banner

While I was in the Cal band at Berkeley in 1941 and 1942 we used to play Stravinsky's wonderful arrangement of the SSB in concert and at all the football games. The concert band at the time was led by Charles Cushing, who was very progressive and consequently a lot of fun to play under.
Unfortunately, some time in '42, undoubtedly because of the war, we were ordered to stop playing the Stravinsky and go trad because "it was more patriotic."
