Think you don't get paid enough for what you do?

Looking at the pay sheet for one of the recording sessions that yielded half
of Miles' best-known album, Kind of Blue, this is what you see. ("Kind of
Blue" is probably the best selling jazz album ever)

Davis was paid $129.36, while Coltrane, Cannonball Adderly, Wynton
Kelly and Bill Evans were paid $64.67.

Paul Chambers and Jimmy Cobb, on bass and drums respectively, were
paid $66.67, the extra two dollars for "cartage" of their instruments.

That's why residuals were essential!
