I've just been talking to Chris Burke, a clarinetist who lives at Folsom,
about 50 miles from New Orleans.  There's very little news of the area in
the UK media and what there is has been pretty upbeat ... inaccurately so
according to Chris.  His  phone has only been back on for a couple of weeks
or so and they still don't have internet access.  It was quite bizarre
searching the web to find information about the French quarter festival just
down the road from him and relaying it back by phone.  He was asking me to
try and find out who is playing there but all I could find was a couple of
phone numbers.  If anyone has any information I'll be glad to pass it on
even if I have to buy a carrier pigeon.

Tony Davis and I had planned to go to New Orleans before the disasters and
we shall still go.  Come to think about it, we're bad news  it might be
better to lock us up, we bought flights to the US the day before 9/11
