There was recently a discussion here about an alleged tune plagiarism
involving Kid Ory -- though in this case he was said to be the victim rather
than the plagiarist.  The original tune was Muskrat Ramble; the song based
on it was one whose name I forget, but it was a 1960's anti-war song by, I
think, Country Joe and the Fish.  ("For it's one, two, three, what are we
fightin' for.....)

The copyright infringement lawsuit was decided in favor of Joe McDonald.  I
think that the plagiarism was obvious and that this was a miscarriage of
justice.
