[Dixielandjazz] Prescott Jazz Summit

Well, we just finished the Prescott Jazz Summit yesterday.  It went  very 
well.  Good crowds, good food and lots of good music.
For me, it was a special treat, because Marvin Stamm and I played together  
quite a bit.  He is truly one of my favorite players.  His  musicality and 
sound are something to behold.
Bob Florence was his usual sheer genius.  Many of you know about his  
incredible big band writing, but he also has to be one of the most creative  piano 
players alive today.
Steve Annibale is a trumpet player from right here in Prescott, and can  "bop 
with the best of them."
Lots of great Phoenix and Tucson based musicians, and five very good high  
school jazz bands, especially when you consider that school just started here  
and they had to play with only a few rehearsals.

As for me, I am TIRED!  Sure is a lot of work being a festival  director!  
But what fun to hear and play with such great musicians!
