Hi Judy,
Didn`t Nigel used to trail around the Grapelli concerts and play with him.

As I recall Grapelli spoke highly of his jazz capabilities. I have a 
recollection of seeing Nigel as a youngster at a Grapelli performance. He 
looked a properly abashed youngster in the presence of a Master. Quietly 
dressed and shy. Played like a wizard.
The next time I saw him he was on TV, unshaven and scruffy, almost 
unrecognisable. I assumed that  some `agent` or PR guy had got to him and 
had created an `image`. Then he appeared playing `classics`, still scruffy 
and unshaven. Haven`t heard him mentioned for years.
What a shame.
