Davern told me he specked the 5JB mouthpiece for Van Doren and says they
never paid him for the idea. All he got was 500 5JB mouthpieces from them.
Maybe we reed men should ask him for a couple each. :-) VBG.

500 mouthpieces at $60 each, retail = $30,000.

Great mouthpiece and the harder reed enabled me to hit a double high C for
the first time in my life, a few days ago. Of course the tone sucked but
what the hell, nobody was keeping score in the Casino. Man do those folks
love that Vaudeville stuff.
