Dear Mike & Listmates:

Let's see, the last time I looked, with the exception perhaps of "My One &
Only Love -1953 by Mellin & Wood, the rest are Great American Songbook Tunes
or Gospel which surely qualify as OKOM even for the most square of us.

My Funny Valentine - 1937 Rodgers & Hart
Summertime - 1935 Gershwin & Gershwin
There Will Never Be Another You - 1942 Gordon & Warren
Take My Hand Precious Lord - (not sure but circa 1930s) Thomas A. Dorsey

Barbone Street plays all four above frequently in swinging Dixieland style.

Not only that but OKOM is OKOM, not just Dixieland. If one searches back
through the years and postings OKOM includes Dixieland, Pseudo Dixieland,
Early American Pop Music, Gospel, Jug Bands, Washboard Bands, Blues, Great
American Songbook, Swing, Spike Jones, Duke Ellington who is not capable of
being classified, The Boondockers who are also not capable of being
classified and many other musical styles.

Perhaps you might check those earlier "definitions" of OKOM on the DJML to
see what the letters imply before being so one-eyed about YOUR personal
definition. 

As to  your stated view that "it seems be some of the heavy weights of
Modern Jazz" being classified as Dixieland Jazz Musicians" . . . that is a
huge leap of logic.
