I believe there is not one single documented case of focal dystonia to be
found in the ranks of washboard players.
It's possible that some percussionists who use actual drum kits may have
suffered this affliction in the past but, if so, it must be rare.
Perhaps a switch to washboard from violin or cello or whatever may salvage
the otherwise lost musical career.
This may be why washboard bands play what has been termed "The Healing
Music."
