OK, Tom Wiggins, is this a relative? (see the PS).

Subject: [78-l] Ezra Wickemeyer, Fred Wiggins + Gennett
Hey all,
Had an email conversation with Rick Kennedy, author of _Jelly Roll,
Bix & Hoagy: Gennett Studios and the Birth of Recorded Jazz_, and he
mentioned that he had heard about an interview with Gennett recording
engineer Ezra Wickemeyer that appeared in _Downbeat_ in the 1940s,
but he hasn't been able to track it down. I've not had any luck
either. Our library here at the Univ. of Texas doesn't have an index
of _Downbeat_ articles nor does the _Downbeat_ site find anything
when I search under Wickemeyer or even Gennett. Surely _Downbeat_
has done at least one article on _Gennett_ during its print run!
Might anyone know of a month or year that this article might have
appeared? Perhaps it didn't appear in _Downbeat_ at all.... The
sure way I'll find out if this fails: go through each issue from the
1940s. Not the most enjoyable way to spend an afternoon, but not the
worst either.
Kyle
PS Though Wickemeyer is someone that we know little about, Gennett's
proto-A&R man and head of recording Fred Wiggins is even more
mysterious. I know he was the manager of the Starr Piano Store in
Chicago and was crucial in bringing the best jazz to Richmond, IN to
be recorded (King Oliver, Jelly Roll Morton, etc.) Any and all
information on Mr. Wiggins would be appreciated -- I need sources!
