Yes indeed Dave, right on. About an amateur band that rehearses, but has
never played a real gig. Then, after years, they get one at a Resort. Has
everything from lots of humor to the reality of playing OKOM for a jazz
oblivious audience and a hostile venue manager.
Many lessons in it including the Pro (Cleavon Little) telling the
clarinetist that "loving the music is not enough, you need to be able to
play it commercially when a big time singer comes to perform and the band is
not adept enough to back him". (or something like that)
Loved it.
