Well it's nice to know that there are so many old farts on the DJML who
remember the jingle. It played through the WWII, at least. The "Pope Sicola"
version originated, as I remember, upon the death of Pope Pius XI, in
February 1939.

Now, How about. (With basso profundo voice for the bas and "booms")

Use Ajax, (boom boom)the foaming cleanser. (ba,ba,ba,ba,ba,ba,boom)
Floats the dirt, right down the drain. (ba,ba,ba,ba,ba,ba,boom)

And the naughty take off on Duz & Rinso? CAUTION "R" RATED

Try the new king of detergents, FUG. yes folks,
If Rinso won't rinse it
And Duz don't do it, Fug it.

Followed by this take off on the Duz jingle.

Put Fug in your washing machine,
Gets your clothes so fuggin clean.

Cheers,
Steve Barbone

PS. Forgive me, I just got back from our Showboat Casino steady gig and it
is a bit mind numbing. On the other hand, the world of radio commercial
jingles in those days was great, as well as great fodder for take-offs.
