Therein lies the problem Rebecca you came from the audience and tried to tell
him it was too loud, not the musicians on the band stand or the band leader
who controls his pay check. That is common practice to smile at the audience
and act like you give a hoot what they said and trun around and fiddle with
the knobs turning them down and right back to where they were or even louder.
How dare an audience member think they know more than the trained ear of the
guy with the amp, especially when one of them is one of those kind of bass
players who gets no respect, whether or not he deserves it. :)
