[Dixielandjazz] listening to OKOM

Hi all,

I will sidestep this thread a bit to tell you something that happened
on my radio show today. I played the title track from the Fog City
Stompers CD "Here Comes The Fog" - I don't think I had ever played it
before - and as soon as I finished I got a phone call from a listener.
He asked about the track, I told him it was written by the band's
trumpet player Tom Belmessieri. The caller went on and on about how
this song was so beautiful, different from any other "San Francisco
Trad" song he had ever heard, great arrangement, use of the brass
voices, rhythms, on and on!

He really enjoyed it (and actually so did I) and it proves that some
people still really listen to OKOM on the radio - it is not just
background music!

BTW, He did not identify himself as a band member and his voice was not
familiar to me, so I don't think he was a shill ;-)
