This reminds me of a trip I made to New York in 1973.  A sports stadium in 
Brooklyn was being renamed in honor of Louis Armstrong that summer, so 
George Wein scheduled a rare dollop of trad jazz during his Newport-in-NY 
Jazz Festival to commemorate the event.  One entire day (July 4) at 
Philharmonic Hall was devoted to righteous music, including Turk Murphy, 
Preservation Hall, Wally Rose, stride-man Joe Turner and others.

The master of ceremonies, obviously used to the more modern fare presented 
at this festival, proudly introduced "Turk Murphy and His Quintet."
