I first heard a few bits of "Golden Gate Stomp" when BRJB was fooling
around with it at the Logan washboard fest last year. I was grabbed by it,
and bought a CD that features Maihack's arrangements: "I'd rather lead a
band" by Golden Gate Rhythm Machine. Available from Jim and probably Bill
Gunter or Bob Ringwald can at least tell us where else.

I got Jim's permission to include the tune in my forthcoming "Dixieland FB
Vol. 2". He supplied a copy of the score, and I ended up with a 3-page lead
sheet. This tune is a significant, full-fledged composition in our music.
