THE FRANK & JOE SHOW
(featuring Frank Vignola & Joe Ascione)
Make Denver Debut As Part Of Summit Jazz Foundation's "Swinging Jazz
Concerts" Series on November 12th &13th

In the Donald R. Seawell Grand Ballroom at The Denver Center for the
Performing Arts

"Once you hear The Frank & Joe Show, you'll have a grasp of the frolic
generated by the guitarist and percussionist's very nifty swing ensemble.
Hyper spins through 'Spiderman' and 'Flight of the Bumblebee' are all about
chops. 'Paper Moon' spilling into 'Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf' is all
about cheer." - Village Voice

WHO:
America's hottest roots jazz band, The Frank & Joe Show, do it the old
fashioned way, hitting the road and bringing the music to the people.
Featuring Frank Vignola and Joe Ascione, the six-piece New York City unit
reinvent the vintage spirit like nobody else on the scene today, drawing
upon elements of Django Reinhardt, Les Paul, Bo Diddley, Mozart, The Doobie
Brothers, Cole Porter, Cream & Spiderman. It results in music of joyously
resounding energy and sheer swing delight.

Guitarist Frank Vignola is one of the greatest guitarists the world over. He
has the rare gift of combining dazzling virtuosity with genuine soul. Every
note finds its pocket and plays the listener's imagination. His partner,
percussionist Joe Ascione, leads a telepathic rhythm section that steers the
music with rolling grooves on djembe and assorted percussion, coloring each
song with splashes of cymbal, rattling shakers and hand claps. The Frank &
Joe Show also features Ken Smith on rhythm guitar, Gary Mazzaroppi on bass,
Chuck Ferruggia on percussion and Rich Zukor on percussion.

Popular song, Gypsy swing, Modern jazz, High & lonesome, Country funk and
Island grooves...The Frank & Joe Show make it all new again -- timeless
American music.

"This recording knocks you out from the first track." - Philadelphia
Inquirer

"Frank and Joe give nostalgia a good name once again!" - Newsday

"While there are traditional anchors here and there -- most obviously Django
and the gypsy guitar groove -- their repertoire and approach are sui
generis. It's a group full of paradoxes: retro yet contemporary, innovative
yet familiar, and tongue-in-cheek while musically quite serious. In
describing The Frank & Joe Show, it would be simpler just to say it's a
hoot." - All About Jazz

"Time out for fun. And nothing but." - Buffalo News
