PRESS RELEASE

NEW SERVICE FOR BANDS LOOKING FOR VENUES

Clevedon Jazz Club has started a new FREE service, which should be of benefit to all bands, both in the UK and from abroad, and to all Club's and venues like their our own who are constantly on the look out for new bands to present on their stages.

The idea came when a Dutch band agreed to play in Clevedon early next year as part of a proposed UK tour. Inevitably they asked for suggestions as to other venues they could approach in the South and South West to complete the tour, and in particular they were interested in e-mail addresses. And, given the speed and low cost compared to post and 'phone respectively, I can understand why.

Clevedon Jazz Club spokesman Trevor Tomasin said 'That set me thinking and the result was an offer by Clevedon Jazz Club to host a 'UK Venue E-mail Finder' Service on the Club's web site - www.clevedonjazzclub.co.uk

The Service is accessed from a 'venue ?' button on the 'links' page of the site. Bands from anywhere in the world will be able select and download lists of venues arranged in 9 separate regions of the UK - the North West, the North East, the Midlands, East Anglia, the South West, the South East, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

New venues are being added all the time and representatives of Clubs or Venues presenting Trad, Dixie, New Orleans or Mainstream Jazz and who have an e-mail address that can be used by bands to contact them are invited to let Clevedon Jazz Club know as soon as possible so that their venue can be included in the listings. They detail required is the Venue's name, the town where the venue is located, a contact's name and e-mail address, either posted to us c/o 1 Woodlands Road, Clevedon. Somerset. BS21 7QD or e-mailed to us at trevor at clevedonjazzclub.co.uk or via the request form on the 'venue ?' web page.
