The Oracle CD mentioned also has the Papa Celestin recordings from 1925 -28
on the same disc. The Sam Morgan sides were recorded on two separate
sessions in April and October 1927. They stand exactly as Brian Towers has
stated - a perfect reflection of New Orleans music of the time.

You should also consider listening to the Jones and Collins Astoria Hot
Eight and Louis Dumaine's Jazzola Eight on Frog DGF5 (available form Jazz
Jerry here in the UK and The Louisiana Music factory in New Orleans)

If only more people would listen and learn from the original source!!!!
