Bottom line guys"

The Folks want to hear material that they are Familiar with and could give a
crap less about your new ORIGINAL song, until some chain of radio stations
burns it into their brain so many times that they also consider it a familiar
favorite.

Like it or not that is the jist of the game in the Real World of Music.

I have played long enough to see and hear it from both sides of the issue,
played with groups and on songs that are indeed pure unadulterated Crap, but
they sold millions of recordings and had billions of spins on radio shows
worldwide. None of which made the music any better or listenable to musicians. I
hear them today on the oldies and classic rock stations and grimmace and do
not even mention to my grandkids that I played with that group.

We often take ourselves and music far too seriously and actually believe that
somebody else cares, the only ones who do care, are other musicians who
don't pay to come and hear us or buy our CDs and recordings anyway, ( most of the
time) they are on our friends and peers list for the free ones while we seek
approval and peer compliments to keep us on the right track. Why else do we
all trade CDs rather than charge each other for them, :)

Frankly I don't care if the best musicians hate what I record and sell, so
long as the audience buys them and like it, that is commercialism and profitable
which will allow me to make all the escoteric egotistical literati recordings
I could ever possibly give away to the self proclaimed EXPERTS who want to be
critics.

I play Fun music for People who want to have Fun and forget their troubles
for a while and be entertained. We are in the Entertainment and communication
business, so let's communicate and entertain them. They will reciprocate by
paying to hear and see you and buy your recordings and tell their friends who
will come and do the same.

"This little Light of Mine" I like to let it Shine" It makes me feel good to
make others feel good. I like to open my shows with the Line, Anybody
here who did not come to have a good time? Get up and Go home NOW before you
do and it's too late to leave."

Cheers,

Tom Wiggins
