Jerry Gordon asks:

Now Jerry is a washboard player and should know the answer:

1st position is washboard in a tub of warm soapy water.

2nd position is standing up with washboard hung out in front.

3rd position is seated with washboard in lap.

4th  position is washboard in the gig bag off stage.
