[Dixielandjazz] 2004 OKOM Revival in NYC?

Speaking about "Revivals", is there a current OKOM revival in NYC? Check
out the following OKOM jazz listings. For the most part these are
excellent jazz bands, not your average garage band.

There is still a fair sized audience for OKOM in NYC today. Just like
there always was. If visiting NYC, be sure to check out these venues,
plus the one shot OKOM concerts that are all over the place there in
various art centers, the 92nd St. Y and other such venues. Behold:


The Cajun. 129 8th Avenue. Trad Jazz every night. + Wednesday Brunch
212-691-6174. Performers include Stan Rubin's 13 piece Swing Orchestra,
Gotham Jazzmen, Blue Orchid Dance Orchestra. John Gill's Jazz Kings,
Stanley's Washboard Kings, etc. Something for everybody.

Across the street from MOMA. This is a GREAT band and the performances
are FREE.. Tell the leader/drummer Dick Sherman hello from me if you
fall by. Depending upon who is available, you might see Ed Polcer, Peter
Ecklund, Jon Erik Kellso, James Lincoln Collier and others, some from
the 1950s Eli's Chosen Six Jazz band. MUCH FUN.
