Hi Rocky,
The "Second Line" exists in 2 forms...
1. Barbarin's Second Line which follows the "Bill Bailey/Bourbon
Street/Tiger Rag etc" format
and has words starting "When you hear that beat" And also
2. The "New Second Line" which Milton Batiste took from"Joe Avery's Piece"
in his days in the Olympia brass band.
And yes, it does follow the blues pattern of Rock Around the clock but with
breaks.
