A few years ago when my daughter got married in France near Bourdo (SP), she
wanted me to play for her reception.

Through Gary Kizer (SP) who has been a member of DJML at different times, &
who lives in France, we got a very young bassist & drummer.  The bass player
was a girl, about 20 & the drummer was not much older.

Neither of them could speak English & I, of course, could not speak French.

However, all I had to do was play an intro & they were right there.  We
played about a 3 hour gig & it was great!

All of the guests could not believe that we had not played together before.

I did not have to tell them names of songs, keys, tempos, breaks, 4s, 8s,
solos, etc.  It all just happened because we all 3 were good musicians &
were listening to each other.
