There you go again, you left out what you wrote prior, that should
appear before my above answer. FYI it was:

Hey Steve,

Are you now claiming to be an expert on British Traditional Jazz of the
last 50 years amongst everything else you have such great knowledge
about?

OK. I do not see a claim of "expertness" there do you?

Nor do I see a claim of "expertness" there, do you?

That's how they strike you? Well, this is not about you.

Do you mean like the "expert" opinion you offered on Charlie Parker?

What pretentious rubbish, to coin your favorite phrase. Some folks get
one year's worth of experience 40 times in 40 years and others may get
40 years. Based on your absurd remarks about Charlie Parker, it is
obvious that you are among the former.

I say, old man, unlike you, I make no claim to knowledge other than
having an opinion. And I usually give examples with my opinions. It is
distressing that you can voice a wildly negative opinion on Charlie
Parker without the slightest intelligent back-up. Yet when I write a
comment about British Trad, even with smiley face attached along with
VBG "only kidding" you go off on a wild goose chase, ranting and raving,
about experts and knowledge. A bit un sporting of you.

And then, even as in your most recent message of explanation above, you
left out the most relevant part of the email exchange which I had to add
above. Was I claiming to be an expert? And a snide remark about
knowledge. Not on the issue at all but some sort of personal attack
which is how your posts usually end up. Sorry old man, but I hit back
when the situation warrants. I guess we Americans are like that.

Cheers,
Steve Barbone
