IN follow up to posts from Nancy Griffin and Dave Stoddard, I'm pleased to
announce that Ed Polcer's Jazz All Stars
will be performing tonight ( 1-28 ) at Penscola Junior College,
co-sponsored by the Jazz Society of Pensacola. For the past several years,
they've made a Southern tour in Jan-Feb. and we've had them almost every
year.
The group is basically the same as Nancy wrote except New Orleans
clarinetist Tom Fisher substitutes for Allan Vache' tonight as Allan has
another committment. They present a wonderful concert for us and we're
pleased to have them.

"Those in the States can see Joe Ascione (dms) with Polcer's All-Stars as
they tour various parts of the U.S. from now till early March. They were
in my area last year, and put on a great show. I plan to see them again when
they return on March 3rd."
One of the stops on the Polcer tour will be Austin, TX. The Jazz All-Stars
will appear at the Scottish Rite Theatre on Monday, February 23. Anyone who
will be in the Austin area is welcome to attend. See the Austin Traditional
Jazz Society website (www.atjs.org) for details.
The Polcer All-Stars were at Scottish Rite in 2003, and did a fine job.
This year's lineup consists of Ed Polcer (cnt), Allan Vache (clt), John
Allred (tbn), John Cocuzzi (pno & vibes), Frank Tate (sbs), and Joe Ascione
(dms).

The Austin Traditional Jazz Society is interested in hearing from other OKOM
bands which are on tour, or might assemble a tour which comes through or
near Austin. Contact President Malcolm Rodman at mnbrodman at austin.rr.com.
Regards,
Dave Stoddard
