Hello listmates,

Steve Barbone just posted this (regarding Le Petomaine):

>Superb musical talent of Joseph Pujol. He was indeed a true musical genius
>who knew how
>to toot his own horn.
>Reminds one of the short limerick:
>
>Beans beans, the musical fruit.
>The more you eat, the more you toot.

I'm sure Steve knows, and probably realized right after he hit the "send"
button, that his couplet is actually NOT a limerick. As a matter of fact,
the completer version has two additional lines . . .

"The more you toot, the better you feel
So let's have beans at every meal!"

I will take a moment and attempt a legitimate limerick rendition of this bit
of doggerel . . .

thinking . . .

aha! -

They say "beans are a musical fruit"
Like a trumpet, a trombone or flute
And the more that you eat
The more you will tweet
honk, hoot, rattle, thunder and toot!

Respectfully submitted,

Bill "Is this not a lovely poem?" Gunter
