Yama Yama man is from an early 1900s musical.

Subject: [Dixielandjazz] Turk Murphy - Jimmie Stanislaus- Yama Yama Man

I heard Turk at Earthquake McGoon's on Pier 39 several times,
but
never when Jimmie Stanislaus sang Yama Yama - one of my favorite tunes.
Turk and his "front line" played up front of the rhythm section, as
someone
has previously mentioned - but I remember Pete Clute and his piano set
up on
the band's left side (audience's right). I wonder if somewhere there
might
be a recording of Stanislaus's vocal with the band - I'd be interested
in
acquiring it.

While on the subject of Yama Yama, IMHO no one does a better and
showmanship rendition of this old New Orleans lullaby than Howard
Miyata,
T-bonist with High Sierra. It brings down the house ever time.
