[Dixielandjazz] Band set up

I usually set up my band in a V formation, with my drums on stage right (at
a 45 degree angle) the tuba to my left (at the V point), piano or banjo at
stage left (at a 45 degree angle, and the clarinet, trumpet and trombone
standing in the open V space.  By setting up this way I can communicate with
the audience from my seat at the drums and the guys in the band can see and
hear each other clearly.  

Another benefit is that the most important member of the band (we all know
I'm talking about the drummer) is not buried in the back row.
