I haven't been following this thread too closely, so please forgive me 
if I repeat anyone, but one of the best clues to knowing if the PayPal 
or eBay request for personal info is fake -- other than their mere 
arrival, because neither entity does such things -- is the actual email 
addresses used.  Once, an eBay scam had a Hotmail.com address for 
"reply-to" (Ha!), but the biggest clue for me is the fact that nearly 
always, my address is given as "Mjl at ix.netcom.com."  Like the automated 
junk mail that comes to my office that has the acronym "MCWRA" (Monterey 
County Water Resources Agency) typed as "McWra."  Maybe our resident 
Rabbie Burns... I mean, Thompson, can comment?(!),
