I just read that Doodles Weaver was actress Sigourney Weaver's uncle.
He joined Spike Jones' troup in 1946, recording his horse and auto race
routines ("William Tell Overture" and "Dance of the Hours") and developed a
spoonerizing character for the Spike Jones Radio Show ("Professor
Feitlebaum"). Perhaps the horse is named for the professor?
