Yes he was.  Marian kindly autographed one of my LPs (with her and Jimmy) earlier this year at Shanghai Jazz in 
Madison NJ.    http://www.shanghaijazz.com/  It was already signed by Jimmy about 30 years ago..."Love from Jimmy and Marian" even though they were divorced at the time. Incidentally, that is quite  love story that woulfd make a good book or film.
