Nah, The tabla, is a hand drum which originated in India, and has since
become popular throughout the world. (except perhaps the USA)

These days, a professional tabla set includes a standard wooden tabla and a
nickeled brass bayan. They are tuned via straps for those drummers who take
the time to tune these days. :-) VBG
