Larry asked about the Scottish Rite Cathedral auditorium as a venue, and for
suggestions. Here is my 2 cents.

We have a similar Scottish Rite venue in Collingswood NJ. They have several
musical concerts a year. One is Dixieland and draws several hundred for Tex
Wyndham's Red Lion Jazz Band.

What about rental fees? The NJ facility has EXCELLENT ACCOUSTICS. Can your
facility be rented to the St Louis Jazz Society as a venue? Are there jazz
festivals in St. Louis that use multi venues? (besides OKOM Festivals) If
so, your Cathedral is a natural venue for a headliner with a national
reputation. A smooth jazzer like Dave Koz might even fill the place.

Can you promote Jazz in St. Louis? Why not ask Ron Gabler in Ohio for
suggestions. He is successfully promoting jazz in Columbus and other cities
in Ohio.

How about "Preservation Hall JB". They would draw at least 500 @ $20 a pop
if concerts in Philadelphia, Reading PA and Wilmington DE are any measure.

The Scottish Rite venue in NJ is a beautiful place to play.

For more info on headliners, google search for Berk's Jazz Fest + PA. The
2005 festival is loaded with smooth jazz players who draw and they too have
a Scottish Rite Auditorium as a venue, among many other venues. (In Reading
PA every March)

Cheers,
