Anton Crouch asks: Who was Dorothy Donegan?

She was a WONDERFUL Jazz pianist. Died in los Angeles in 1998 at 76
years of age. She played a variety of straight ahead jazz styles and
usually performed with her trio. I saw her in NYC back in the 50s a few
times. Along with other female jazzers like Beryl(spelling?) Booker,
Carmen McRae et al.

Ms. Donegan was both a hip chick and a great musician. An "in your face"
lady if you know what I mean. Someday, we ought to list all the great
female jazz musicians like her.

No, she was not Irish. ;-) VBG

Cheers,
Steve Barbone
