I'm not sure why someone would accuse Vince Giordano (of Nighthawks fame) of
"loving himself too much," that sounded a bit like a rim shot, but I was
told by the tuba player (and a really fine one) in the Red Onion band that Vince
was now at the Roosevelt Grill in New York. I plan to go there. The last
time I heard him at the Cajun, he came around and worked the room like a
pro--talking to everyone, answering questions, being a total gentleman. He obviously
knows a lot about his music, doing his own arrangements. I add my vote to
going to the Cajun on any night of the week. I like New Orleans' fare and it's
not bad there. It could be much worse and I would still go for the music.
