"Where do we draw the OKOM line?" I've read the posts so far and everyone's
gotten it right.
What is OKOM? It stands for Our Kind Of Music - the music which we like.
Some of us like country and want to play piano in a country band, others
like modern music including jazz and classical, most of us like Dixieland or
Traditional jazz, Chicago jazz, and some of us like other forms of music
rock, top 10, flamenco, rap, hip-hop, and so on. Whatever you like, it's
OKOM.
My point is that OKOM is a term which seems to have originated here on the
DJML and is a term which lacks meaning except in a very personal way.
I suggest that we drop OKOM and return to the designations of the various
schools of music with which we're already familiar.
