 Charlie Coleman says:

> I just finished listening to an MP3 CD of 12 Eddie Condon 1944 Town Hall
concerts, and Condon had no trouble with new material. I think it boils
down to Musicianship, inherent ability to swing, and great big ears. I
would love to hear what Pee-Wee and the Condon regulars would have done to,
let's say, the Beatles????

Listen to the World's Greatest Jazz Band's album where they do such things
as "Mrs. Robinson" & Up Up & Away."

Also, Bob Scobey & Clancy Hayes doing an album of hit songs of the 50s.

While it was pre-Beattles, shows you what good musicians can do with
non-OKOM type songs.

Also, the (And I can't spell it but will take a crack at it) Anacronic JB
from France, I think. They do a whole bunch of really modern bee-bop tunes
in an OKOM style & do it very well.

Perhaps some of our record collectors on the List can pin the names of these
albums down for you.

Perhaps other Listmates have other like recordings of non-OKOM or non-Jazz
tunes done in a Jazz style?
