I believe that there is something regarding the "free musicians drink" that 
non-Californians don't understand. There can not be a free drink served on the 
bandstand at any festival in California. It is not under the control of the 
festivals but the ABC (Alcoholic Beverage Control) a government bureau. It is a 
relatively new rule. They can sell you a drink really cheap but it can't be 
free.
