A modification to Robert Smith's excellent effort, which doesn't quite scan:

A conductor for strictness renowned
Said grimly while glaring around,
"If you dare miss a beat,
And stamp your damn feet,
By my baton you'll find yourself crowned".

(Accent the first syllable of BATON)
