Dear friends.
Stop looking.
I have the answer.
The correct title is "I Was Watching a Man Paint a Fence" and recorded in
London in 1940 by both the Geraldo and the Ambrose Orchs.
The Geraldo version was issued on Australian Parlophone A7292 (backed by "A
Nightingale Sang In Berkley Square").
The good news is that a friend here in Sydney has a copy.
The bad news is that his 78 has a big lump out of the edge!
Does anyone have a clean, complete version on 78, LP or CD?
