approach toward preserving the popular music of the late 1800's through
the early 1930's and the West Coast Revival of the 1940's. They're
best known for the two trumpet sounds of Joe "King" Oliver and Lu
Watters bands and the orchestrated hot dance music of the late
twenties. You'll also hear Devil Mountain Jazz Band perform ragtime,
blues, Dixieland standards, gospel and novelty tunes, and an occasional
duck-call by Pete Main!
Musicians include:
Ken Keeler - Leader, on Banjo
Rick Elmore on Trombone
Pete Main on Clarinet and Sax
Virginia Tichenor on Piano
Allan Grissette on Drums
Noel Weidkamp on Trumpet
Ken Brock on Trumpet
Keith Baltz on Tuba
Spacious Dance Floor. The lodge has Food and a Full Bar.
One month later, NVDJS will feature Cell Block Seven Jazz Band on
Sunday, November 9, 2003 from 1-5 PM at the same location.
